Patrick Munene - 2009 student at KBTC Patrick Munene, student at Kenya Bible Training Centre, writes REF: KENYA BIBLE TRAINING CENTER – A PLACE FOR HARMONY I got born again and immediately committed myself to personal growth in the kingdom of God. I personally gave myself to personal Bible study and regular prayer in my life. I didn’t like the usual conduct I found among several confessing church going Christians who’s talk never matched their walk. But little did I know that the revelation of God that I got from the Bible could still be limited and thus ultimately limit my personal knowledge and understanding of God and His divine will for human kind, until KBTC came into my life. I joined KBTC under a stressful and burdensome weight of huge family financial obligation (of which I have faith God will care for) and thus an obvious state of inability to pay tuition fee for this training. However through His miraculous intervention, a scholarship was extended to me which met almost whole of my tuition. I saw His loving care and mercy and gave glory to His name! Before joining KBTC, I knew God as a God of outright anger and brutality every time He was offended and represented Him as such. Indeed I feared Him with such kind of fear that I always saw a God who enjoyed killing and destroying people. And this is the way He is presented by many of us in most parts of Africa, and some parts of Kenya inclusive. Biblical incontrovertible evidence lay bare for me in Duet. 28:63, Duet. 32:39; Isaiah 45:7. After all He took Moses to mount Nebo only to have him die there. (Deut. 34:1-8) even with all the service and sacrifice Moses had given Him. This was the perception I had of Him! I feared Him and I really don’t know whether I loved Him. Think of gospel ministers fashioned thus for some parts of Africa! KBTC helped harmonize the scriptures and understand God in a better perspective – a loving, caring and merciful father. KBTC has also helped us to look at scriptures with reference to the various dispensations as God revealed Himself thus broadening our knowledge and understanding of God. Today I am free from fear and bondage I know that I don’t need to fear God to such extreme because He is a father to me. Even without the presence of my father and mother, I can now personally relate passionately to a dear Heavenly father and allow Him to take fully the vacuum of long gone parents. I now know that my heavenly father is not a killer but the devil (John 10:10) and that His loving care and His mercies abide forever! His eternal love for the lost world and us has now been revealed to me quite clearly at KBTC. He is “longsuffering towards all, not willing that any should perish” and has done all that was supposed to be done for the salvation of all mankind. God’s nature is love and God is Love! Long live KBTC – GOD BLESS KBTC!
