REPORT FROM MMC CHURCHES OF CONGO - DRC

By Pastor Mweni Ake Mwenembuka, Sr. Pastor MMC Churches DRC

Glory and honor unto God for his unceasing grace, love and faithfulness to us. We humble ourselves under His mighty power as we come before Him with thanksgiving. His greatness and mighty power have been manifest to us in various ways. We take this opportunity to express as the church of Congo our wholeheartedly gratitude to the servant of God Pastor Angelo who has been committed toward achieving partnership and networking possibilities on behalf of the Missions for Christ ministries. We remember well when we first met him in Nairobi in 2004. None of us ever thought how things would turn into in the near future. People on our side thought that the many trips that Pastor Mweniake Mwenembuka made to Embu, Kenya were just an adventure and a mere dream but the same were astonished when Pastor Angelo visited Nyarugusu Congolese refugeesÕ camp.

His visits there both in 2008 and March 2009 opened up a new page and people were left with nothing to say apart from saying `Glory and honor unto our God.Ó Many took the same opportunity to apologize for their complaints and thanked and glorified God for fulfilling a long waited dream. Apart from that, as a result of his visits to Nyarugusu camp three of our members have benefited from one year Bible training at KBTC in Embu, Kenya. They are now committed servants of the Lord in our churches. Their training is apparently beneficial to many as they are now training others. We praise God for that as we look for many training opportunities for our people as a way to strengthen and equip the body of Christ in our communities to reach others for Jesus Christ. Moreover, Pastor Angelo visit to Congo (Uvira, Mboko, Sandja, Lusenda, Baraka) was felt and seen by many as the fulfillment of the dream to reach many for Christ in the near future through our strong partnership and networking. Pastor Angelo visited Congo together with Pastor Paul at the end of June to early July 2009. This has proven to the church of Congo of their commitment and love toward reaching many for Jesus Christ. Many were encouraged by their visit especially those who thought our intense visits to Embu were just adventure and in vain. As you know the church in Congo has suffered a 1ot due to war and is eager to receive love from brethren in Christ across the globe to encourage and testify to them about GodÕs love and faithfulness despite the difficult times they are undergoing. We praise God that we now have churches in various areas of Uvira and Fizi districts, We are praying for more people to come to Bible school for training any time as doors open so that we may have a solid church that can equip people at both the local church and government levels. We desire a church that will make an impact and difference in our area of action, therefore, as once way to attain this, Pastor Mweniake is coming for one at Kenya Bible Training Center Š in Embu Town

The church of Congo envisions and prays for its registration at the national level early in 2010. We trust God for funds to make this become a reality and as we willingly want to abide by the laws that govern our country in order to glorify and honor God. We welcome you all to partner and support us to attain this registration. By doing this, our new churches will get established quickly in the country. Moreover, as we mentioned earlier, we now have churches in various places but our desire and plan is to establish a strong and solid church in Uvira town that will serve as the headquarter arid main physical address. We trust God for provision since to get a field for construction and all the facilities required for building a good and modern church in Uvira requires funds that we canÕt afford to raise as a new church. We believe partnering with you (MCM) and many other Christian ministries or individuals will make this possible. We pray that MCM will not only glorify God through bringing many to God in Congo but also to minister to the social and physical needs of the deprived and oppressed of our societies. We canÕt finish this without expressing our sincere gratitude to Pastor Angelo again and the entire MCM for various supports offered to us. During our various visits to Kenya, Pastor Angelo and MCM in general has been helping toward our transport and accommodation. We thank God for that. Our prayer is that MCM will seek to establish strategies and plans to strengthen the church in Congo (MMC) through sending missionaries and involving itself in many other projects there as to foster both Spiritual and social growth of the church. We know the work of reaching many for Christ canÕt be done by one but through the effort of many in the body of Christ. We call on individual people and the church as a whole to pray and come up with any support toward the establishment of the church in Congo as we invite you all to visit Congo any time of your choice to see for yourself and be part of what God is doing here. We appreciate and extend our gratitude to the USA partners for their various support to Missions for Christ Ministries (MCM), who in turn through Pastor Angelo assisted both our students here and our various visits to Embu, Kenya for annual conferences. Our prayers are always with you and we once again take this opportunity to welcome you to the new field in Congo. We dedicate all this work to God as we request you to consider the Congo Church as your new daughter and a part of your ministry to glorify God. May God bless you so much as you consider to reach many for Him in Congo. (1Cor 15:58) ŅYour labor in the Lord will not be in vain..Ó
